Other findings include:

  • Over 70% of video consumption takes place on the television.
  • Younger viewers are selecting other screens as their primary entertainment platforms. The laptop is ranked ahead of the television for those ages 18-34.
  • Household penetration of set-top and portable streaming devices reached 25% at the end of 2014.
  • 51% of U.S. households own a dedicated game console.
  • 53% of video gamers say they prefer to buy the physical game over the digital version.
